Can the Cybex e-Gazelle S be used without the electric assist?
Yes. The e-Gazelle S can be pushed manually with the motor off, functioning exactly like the standard Gazelle S. The electric assist is an option, not a requirement for normal use.

It's been one year since I started using my Cybex e-gazelle and it is by far the best baby gift we received. The versatility from infant, to toddler, to double, was exactly what my family was looking for. I love the accessories that Cybex has offered to purchase including the snack tray, rain cover, etc.
Real Mom Talk...The reason I went with this stroller is because I live in a very hilly/canyon neighborhood. It's like San Francisco in the desert. I knew I would need a little power boost getting up these canyon hills with a little one + baby gear + one day 2 littles in the stroller. The battery life makes it 3 days on a 90 minute walk so zero complaints there. I also find myself using the break feature when going down hills for safety as well.
In addition to our adventure walks, I also use this stroller to grocery shop. I wasn't crazy about putting my little one in a shopping cart and the bottom basket is very large that you can put your groceries down below while your baby is safe and snuggled into their stroller.
I'm 5'11" so I needed a stroller that was tall and when I compared to others this felt the most comfortable. I also liked how the wheels went over rocky terrain (small gravel, cobblestone, etc). It's on the heavy side but not something you can't lift in and out of the trunk of your car.
I do wish Cybex made travel airline bags but I ended up purchasing a padded Uppa Baby and it fits perfect. Easy to collapse in seconds, remove front wheels, etc.
It's a splurge but now I can't live without it!

TOO HEAVY..
As a first time mama I was totally taken by the looks and features of this stroller when I came in the store and tested it. Now that we have it.. I totally regret it and wish I would’ve chosen something different. This stroller is really really heavy. It’s such a hassle having to load and unload it to my car every time. It also doesn’t help the there is no handle or strap to lift it up to make it easier. The handle of my stroller has already gotten all scratched just after 2 months of use from closing it. So disappointed for the price..
