The Voices Behind Bambi Baby

Real parenting experience meets baby gear expertise.

Meet the people behind the buying guides, product comparisons, reviews, and expert advice you read at Bambi Baby.

Our Bambi Baby writers share years of combined experience with juvenile products, baby gear, and the premium brands found throughout our website. Each of our content authors multitasks behind the scenes, supporting Bambi Baby’s everyday operations and wearing multiple hats—but the most important hat worn by all three women is their mom hat.

While each author brings significant experience and expert product knowledge to the table, what matters most is the understanding that comes from actually being a parent. Our authors write with purpose, and that purpose isn’t simply marketing or selling products. It is to educate parents from the perspective of other parents, with an innate understanding that every family is different—and the same product will not be the right fit for every lifestyle.

Every article, buying guide, and blog is crafted with intention: to explain baby gear in a way that makes sense, answer the questions parents are actually asking, and help our readers discover the products that best match their real-life needs.

My career in the baby gear industry is a happy accident. I started out managing a family-owned baby boutique, where baby gear was only part of the job. Custom nurseries were our bread and butter, and I fell head over heels for that side of the business.

I worked with families to create rooms from the ground up: space planning, furniture, paint colors, lighting, rugs, fabrics, window treatments, and all the little details that make a room feel finished. I adored making a room beautiful, but I loved figuring out how it needed to work just as much. We ask a lot of nurseries: they need to feel special, but they also have to function at 3 a.m. with a baby in your arms. A gorgeous glider is considerably less charming if it’s impossible to nurse in.

Baby gear was a different kind of puzzle. I learned strollers, car seats, high chairs, and baby carriers. I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed knowing the details: how something folded, what fit with what, and why products that looked nearly identical on paper could feel completely different in real life.

Two families could walk in looking for a stroller and leave with completely different choices. One might want something beefy and substantial for long neighborhood walks. The other needed something light enough to cram in the trunk five times a day. Both were right. The details mattered. So did knowing which ones mattered to that particular family.

After several years in retail, I switched sides. I worked with national baby gear brands, trained retailers, and spent time on the baby expo circuit, talking gear with expectant parents in convention centers around the country. It was a crash course in explaining what made a product different when the booth next door was promising something equally life-changing.

The slightly backwards part of my story is that I learned baby gear before I learned babies. By the time my son was born, I had spent years talking to parents about what they needed and knew an unreasonable amount about baby gear. I assumed this would give me some sort of advantage.

It did. Sort of.

Actually having a baby was an excellent lesson in the limits of product expertise. Babies have preferences. Parents get tired. Trunks are smaller than you remember. Your best laid plans get tossed. And the feature you barely noticed in a showroom can become your favorite thing about a product once you're using it six times a day.

Somewhere along the way, I started writing about all of it. I began creating baby gear and parenting content for a major retailer, which turned out to be a natural home for everything I'd accumulated over the years: product knowledge, retail experience, brand experience, and an apparently permanent desire to compare things.

Today at Bambi Baby, I work across content and customer experience. I write product copy and educational content, but I still talk to parents every day. That combination suits me! I get to dig into the details of a product, then hear directly from the people actually using it. It keeps me close to how baby gear works in real life and gives me a steady supply of observations no spec sheet has ever adequately captured.

My son is nine now, so my own baby gear years have given way to an entirely different set of parenting logistics. I still love interiors, still have strong opinions about car seats, and still swoon over a meticulously crafted nursery. The difference is that now I can appreciate the custom upholstery without wondering whether someone is going to spit up on it.

I’ve been a baby gear nerd for a long time. It started when I became a mom, but my obsession really took off when my first daughter was about six months old and I discovered just how much I didn’t know about baby gear.

My first stroller was a big-box brand stroller. It seemed like a perfectly good choice at the time, but by the time my daughter was nine months old, it was on its last leg. I started looking at what else was out there and discovered an entirely different world of baby gear. There were strollers built to last through multiple kids, thoughtfully designed products I had never seen before, and brands I quickly became very familiar with.

From there, I was hooked.

Baby Jogger was my gateway into premium strollers and eventually led me to UPPAbaby and Bugaboo. By the time my third child came along, I had a pretty impressive stroller fleet, from travel strollers to doubles to joggers, along with more than enough experience with car seats to have some very strong opinions about baby gear. I was always on the lookout for something new to try and loved hunting down a good marketplace deal on the gear I had my eye on.

Around this time, I also purchased a Veer wagon that is still going strong and gets plenty of use at our kids’ sporting events every week.

I was also a traveling mom from the very beginning. My oldest daughter flew on about 25 planes during her first year, and I could only dream of having the travel strollers available to parents today. Traveling with babies and toddlers, especially with two under two solo, taught me very quickly that the right gear can make a huge difference. It also gave me firsthand experience with everything from navigating airports with little ones to figuring out what you actually need when you're hauling kids and gear halfway across the country.

When my middle child had just turned two, I was ready for something outside of being a stay-at-home mom. By that point, I had spent years researching strollers, comparing features, reading about car seats, and talking baby gear with friends and family. I reached out to a specialty baby store and introduced myself as a “stroller enthusiast.” They hired me because of the product knowledge I had already built, and what started as a little break from being home with my kids turned into a career I genuinely love.

As my kids grew, so did my role. I started by helping parents one-on-one and eventually moved into writing product guides, comparisons, and real-life reviews. I love digging into the details of a product and figuring out what actually matters.

One of the areas I’ve become especially passionate about is car seat safety. Parents are expected to make incredibly important decisions about car seats, yet most of us aren't given much education about how they work, how to install them, or how to know when our child is ready for the next stage. There is a lot of information out there, and it can be difficult to know what is actually important. I love helping parents sort through it without the fear, judgment, or overwhelm.

And my work isn't just behind a computer. You can still find me on the phone, in web chat, answering emails, or responding to questions on social media. I love that part of my job because I get to hear directly from parents about what they're struggling with, what they're looking for, and what questions they have. Those real conversations often make their way into the guides and comparisons I write.

After more than a decade of obsessing over baby gear, I still get excited when a new stroller arrives or a brand comes out with something completely different. The products coming out today are so cool, and I love seeing how brands continue to find new ways to make life with kids easier.

My kids are now 6, 9, and almost 11, so I'm officially out of the baby stage, but I haven't lost the gear obsession. These days, when I'm not testing products or helping parents find the right car seat or stroller, I'm probably at a sports field. Weekends can mean multiple baseball, soccer, swim events, and flag football games. And when we're not at a field, you'll probably find us at the beach.

Being a mom is ultimately what made me a baby gear nerd, and being a baby gear nerd is what led me here. I know how overwhelming it can be to look at hundreds of strollers or car seats and have no idea which one is actually right for your family. My goal is to make that process a little easier, with honest information, real-world experience, and a healthy amount of gear nerdiness along the way.

Content Author & Copywriter + Website Merchandiser

I started my journey with baby gear when I was expecting my first child. Coming from a background in fashion and visual merchandising, baby gear was completely foreign to me. Creating my own baby registry at a not-to-be-mentioned big-box store was not the welcoming experience I needed as I entered my parenting journey. Without the expert guidance I didn’t yet realize I was missing, I learned which products worked for me and my family through endless trial, error, and rotating gear.

Ironically, I later found myself managing a family-owned baby store featuring brands like Nuna, Bugaboo, and UPPAbaby. The store was located in a suburban town surrounded by rural neighborhoods, yet close enough to New York City that the Metro-North platform was practically at our back door. That unique location gave me the opportunity to work with an incredibly diverse range of families living different lifestyles, in different neighborhoods and environments.

But they all had one thing in common: they were starting exactly where I had been just a few years earlier—walking into a baby store knowing very little about strollers, car seats, or what to look for in nursery furniture. Because of my own experience, I understood the weight of my responsibility to provide the real, honest guidance parents-to-be so desperately need, and it was something I took seriously.

While I immensely enjoyed the years I spent working face-to-face with parents and families, my role eventually evolved into content writing. With the product knowledge and expertise I had accumulated during my years as a store manager, combined with my own parenting experience and creative background, it was a role I was eager to take on.

Every word, paragraph, and page I create for Bambi Baby is written with the woman I was all those years ago in mind—the expectant mom standing lost in a big-box store, unsure of what products were available, what she actually needed, or how much quality could matter in everyday life. I also draw heavily from the years I spent serving families with completely different lifestyles, learning that there is rarely one “best” product for everyone. The right baby gear is the gear that makes sense for the family actually using it.

Today, my two daughters are teenagers! I spend my weekends at soccer and basketball games, cheering from the sidelines, and I start most mornings walking the beach with my best friend—my rescue dog.

Baby gear has come a long way since my daughters were little, and I admit I am a bit envious of some of the products available today that I never had the opportunity to use. But I love getting the chance to learn about new products before they hit shelves, process all of the details, and translate that information into something easily digestible for parents-to-be and new parents who already have enough on their plates.

And while strollers tend to get all the glory, one product I will always recommend is a baby carrier. I reached for mine more than almost any other piece of baby gear during those first few years—especially when I had a newborn and a toddler. The closeness a baby carrier creates builds a bond that I can personally testify lasts through the years...even when the trying teenage phase begins.
