When does the RAVA go on sale?
Interested in sales on the Nuna RAVA convertible car seat? As a luxury brand, Nuna controls the pricing for all retailers nationwide and rarely allows discounts on the Nuna RAVA.
Is the Nuna RAVA machine washable?
The Nuna RAVA is machine-washable and easy to clean in the event of your little passenger's inevitable messes. The seat cover, harness pads, and infant insert (without the support wedge) are machine washable when removed from the RAVA.
Nuna recommends washing your RAVA seat cover, harness pads and infant insert on the delicate cycle, using cold water and mild detergent. To preserve their shape, the cover, harness pads, and infant insert should hang to air dry rather than being placed in a dryer, and they cannot be dry cleaned or bleached. When washing the infant insert of the RAVA, remove the support wedge, located on the back side of the infant, and spot treat that piece separately as needed. To clean other parts of the RAVA, Nuna recommends wiping any plastic, vinyl, and metal parts with a damp sponge or soft cloth. For the harness itself, clean with a sponge and warm soapy water then towel dry to remove excess water before air drying. This part of the RAVA is not removable and you should not attempt to remove the harness or buckle. Using a damp cloth, you can wipe the outside of the buckle, but it should not be immersed in water. No parts of the RAVA can be ironed or dry cleaned, but they are designed in such a way that parents can keep the car seat clean for years to come without much difficulty.
Does the Nuna RAVA recline?
Yes, the Nuna RAVA does have 10 different recline settings - there are 5 recline positions when in rear-facing mode and 5 when in forward-facing mode! They are labeled in blue for rear-facing use and in red for forward-facing use. The RAVA is designed with multiple recline positions to provide comfort for your child and to accommodate different vehicle seat angles. The recline feature helps ensure that your child is in a safe and comfortable position while traveling.
Can the Nuna RAVA be used for a newborn?
The Nuna RAVA convertible car seat can be used with a newborn and grows with your child for the next several years. Some parents opt to buy a convertible car seat like the RAVA for a newborn because it has greater longevity than an infant car seat, which is typically only used for about a year. The RAVA can be used until age 5 or older, as it supports a child up to 49" in height or 65 pounds.
How long can you use the Nuna RAVA?
When the RAVA is installed rear-facing, choose from five recline settings so your little one has the most ideal support from birth. Your child can continue to sit rear-facing until they are 49" tall or 50 pounds. The RAVA can be used forward-facing until 49" or 65 pounds.
How long do you use the Nuna RAVA infant insert?
The Nuna RAVA comes with a head insert and body insert that improve the fit of the harness and recline angle for a newborn. The head insert can be removed at any time as your child grows. The body support insert must when your newborn weighs between 5 pounds and 11 pounds and if the harness straps are positioned above your child's shoulders. The harness must be positioned at or below your child's shoulders. The RAVA also has two crotch belt positions to accommodate your child as he grows. The crotch belt should be used in the position that's closest, but not underneath, your child.
Can I attach the Nuna RAVA to a stroller?
Because the Nuna RAVA is a convertible car seat designed to grow with your child for many years, it is too large and heavy to be placed on a stroller frame (as is the case with most convertible car seats).
Although a convertible car seat like the RAVA has greater longevity, most families opt to use an infant car seat for their child's first year. Infant car seats attach to strollers and are far more portable, making it easier to be out and about with an often-sleeping baby.
Nuna offers its popular PIPA infant car seat series, which can attach to a Nuna stroller.
Will the Nuna RAVA fit in my car?
The Nuna RAVA is a convertible car seat that fits well in almost all vehicles. It is also one of the slimmest front to back seats when rear-facing, making it a great option for taller drivers or passengers or tighter back seats. To determine if the RAVA will work for your car, we advise checking both your car’s back seat dimensions and the RAVA specifications.
One thing to note is the Nuna RAVA cannot be installed using a self-inflatable vehicle seat belt. If your car has these types of seat belts, you must install the RAVA using the LATCH (lower anchor belts). But remember, LATCH has a weight limit. In the RAVA, the LATCH weight limit is 35 pounds when rear-facing and 40 pounds when forward facing. Once your child reaches the weight limit for the LATCH, another seat must be used.
Does the Nuna RAVA rotate or swivel?
No, the Nuna RAVA does not rotate or swivel. It is a convertible car seat designed to be installed in a rear-facing or forward-facing position using the vehicle's seat belt or the lower anchors and tether system. However, the Nuna RAVA has a simply secure installation system that makes it easy to install and adjust the car seat, allowing for a secure and comfortable fit for your child. Looking for a rotating convertible car seat? Check out Nuna's REVV with a full 360 degree swivel!
Does the Nuna RAVA have a base?
No, the Nuna RAVA is a convertible car seat that can be used in both rear-facing and forward-facing modes and therefore does not have a separate base. Unlike infant car seats, which come with a separate base that stays installed in the vehicle, convertible car seats like the Nuna RAVA typically do not have a separate base. Instead, the entire car seat is installed directly into the vehicle using the seatbelt or the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system. Convertible car seats are made to stay installed in the car.
Does the Nuna RAVA turn into a booster?
No, the Nuna RAVA does not turn into a booster. It will fit a child from 5 pounds to 65 pounds or 49 inches, but is only a harnessed seat that transitions from rear-facing to forward-facing. It will typically last a child until 5 or 6 years old when they are ready to transition to a booster seat like the Nuna AACE. The Nuna AACE is Nuna’s stand alone booster seat that transitions from high back to no back booster.
If you are looking for a Nuna seat that turns into a booster - an “all-in-one” - that would be the Nuna EXEC. The Nuna EXEC is very similar to the Nuna RAVA in that it starts out rear-facing and turns forward later down the road. However, it also turns into a booster seat when the time comes!
Does the Nuna RAVA have cup holders?
Yes, the Nuna RAVA has two convenient cup holders included. They are attached to the car seat and pop out when you want to use them. You can pop them back into the car seat shell if they are in the way or you don’t need them. Both cupholders can be removed completely by popping the cupholders into the use position, and then firmly pulling up. To replace the cupholder, snap it into the hinge and make sure it’s securely attached.
