I didn't think it was necessary and I was just going to use a tote. Then I saw how this bag clips into the Doona carseat/stroller. We used our rewards from buying the Doona to purchase the bag and I'm glad we did. It's a good sized bag with a good amount of pockets and compartments. And it's convenient that it clips into the stroller.
