But for infants, I always recommend an infant car seat, even though a convertible car seat can work. So infant car seats will go rear facing and convertible car seats go rear facing and forward facing. And some even have a revolving feature. But your lifetime is infant car seat to convertible car seat and eventually end up with a booster car seat. So if you have a small child that transitions into a convertible and then have another small child, you reuse your infant car seat.
