Look for a car seat with multiple recline positions or a built-in leveling foot. These features help ensure a proper installation angle even when your vehicle’s seats are uneven.

Are convertible and all-in-one seats safe for newborns?

Some are! Not all have a snug, supportive fit for tiny newborns, especially if your baby is on the smaller side. If you’re skipping the infant car seat, make sure the car seat you choose has a low enough harness setting, proper recline angle, and infant inserts designed for safe use from day one.
