WildBird - Bambi Baby

WildBird

WildBird makes the ring sling that earned its reputation in the babywearing world: a single length of breathable fabric, two solid aluminum rings, and a carry that holds a newborn close from day one. At Bambi Baby, we stock the slings parents actually ask for by name, alongside the soft goods that round out the first year of carrying, sleeping, and floor time.

The WildBird ring sling, and why parents reach for it

A ring sling is the quietest piece of baby gear you'll own. No buckles, no panels, no learning curve that takes a weekend. You thread the fabric through the rings, tighten the rails across your baby's back, and walk out the door. It works for the newborn stretch when a stroller feels like overkill, the grocery run where one hand needs to be free, and the afternoon a toddler decides walking is no longer an option.

WildBird's signature fabric has a dense, supportive weave that breaks in fast and softens with every wear. Most parents find their shoulder placement in a session or two. The aluminum hardware is rated for well above real-world carrying weight, and the tail tucks neatly so nothing drags through a stroller wheel or a coffee shop floor.

What you'll find in the collection

  • Ring sling carriers in linen, performance, and limited seasonal weaves, sized for petite through plus frames
  • Sleep sacks in muslin and quilted weights for the transition out of swaddling
  • Swaddles sized generously for newborns through four months
  • Crib sheets in soft jersey and woven cotton, fitted for standard crib mattresses
  • Play mats for tummy time, sitting practice, and the in-between months before a baby is fully on the move

Who the WildBird sling is for

If you live in a walk-up, take the subway with a baby, or routinely navigate sidewalks that defeat a full-size stroller, a ring sling earns its place. It folds into a diaper bag. It works for skin-to-skin in the early weeks, hip carries with an older baby, and quick ups and downs when nothing else is fast enough. Parents who carry often pair a WildBird with a structured carrier for longer outings; the sling handles the short trips and the in-between moments.

Sizing and fit

WildBird offers multiple lengths so the tail hangs at a comfortable point on your body rather than pooling at the knee or running short across the shoulder. If you're between sizes, the standard length suits most parents between 5'2" and 5'10". Anything taller or curvier sizes up.

Care

Machine wash cold, tumble dry low, and the fabric softens with each cycle. The rings are aluminum and won't rust, so a wet wash is fine.

Round out the nursery

Carrying is one piece of the early months. For the rest of the setup, see our baby gear edit, our Ergobaby structured carriers for longer walks, and Lovevery play kits that pair well with a WildBird play mat. Building out the nursery? Mattresses and Oxford Baby cribs and furniture are the next stop.
